IS YOUR LIFE RECESSION PROOFED?
Within a week I heard of 3 people who lost their jobs and none of them had plans in case that happened (if that happened to you it’s OK, it happened to me too and I was scrambling to figure out what to do next! 👀😳
News of a recession sometimes sends people into a place of mental torment but you and I don’t have to go there. We can recession-proof our lives with the Word of God and by doing the necessary and commonsense things. If there’s trouble on your job you know what to do, and you could do it ahead of time - we should always have a plan! What if the management at your job says “At the end of the year there will be job cuts.” Or maybe they don’t say it to the staff, but they leak it to the media and it’s all over the news, ugh..😏
Have no fear! Maybe it’s time for something more positive, something better. Maybe it’s time to start the business you’ve had on your mind for years, write that book, or go back to school. Check for grants and/or scholarships. Remember that there will always be a new beginning when something dies! Something else to remember is that since the year 1792, with every recession in America when the stock market went down it always, never failed, to bounce back - and it always came back up higher than ever before! So there’s that….😜
Outside of the word of God (filling your heart and mind with scriptures about finances, mental help, protection, and peace), what could you do if the recession caused you to lose your job? Well for starters, apply for federal and/or state benefits. Then check your health insurance for options; if you have a 401K or 403B see what it’s worth and what the penalty rates are; work with a budget if you didn’t already have one; and invest in your personal growth!
A big one that I wasn’t aware of when I suddenly didn’t have a job anymore was - deal with your emotions! I can tell you from experience that your emotions will try to take you on a roller coaster ride, don’t let it! Acknowledge your emotions, tell someone you trust (or several people) about what happened, and talk it out. Then begin to feed your mind and spirit with God’s Word. If you have to cry then cry - no big deal, plus you’ll probably feel much better after you do!😊🙏🏿
Keep in mind that this is only temporary, happy days are right around the corner. Be expectant! I’ll see you tomorrow.
