OTHER COUNTRIES THAT USE CRYPTOCURRENCY

Recently I had a cryptocurrency conversation with a friend of mine who lives abroad, and then I started digging around recently to find out about other countries that use crypto, and the percentage of their population familiar with it; for sure, crypto use is on the rise in countries outside of the USA.

Nigeria: 33% of Nigerians either use or own cryptocurrency but it is prohibited for Nigerian banks to serve customers who deal in crypto assets.☹️

Trinidad and Tobago: Only 2% of Trinbagonians use crypto and right now cryptocurrency is not legal tender in Trinidad and Tobago; their Central Bank is extremely cautious about it. It is legal however for citizens of Trinidad and Tobago to buy and sell Bitcoin, provided they're not using it for illegal activities.👍🏾

Great Britain: 4% of the population there use crypto and there are crypto-friendly banks there such as Barclays and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Jamaica: 1% of Jamaicans still use crypto even though it is not legal tender in Jamaica. The Bank of Jamaica has reminded Jamaicans of the potential risks of using or investing in cryptocurrencies.🙄

India: 18% of their population use crypto. Their Finance Minister, T. V. Somanathan told Bloomberg that it is not illegal to buy or sell crypto in India. He also said that "Bitcoin, Ethereum, or NFT will never become legal tender,” and that crypto-assets are assets whose value will be determined by two people. (Never say NEVER, India!)😜

My point here is: Cryptocurrency is global. Central Banks all over the world aren’t in a hurry to encourage their customers to invest in it, but I am pretty sure that they do see the potential! I believe that many banks and high-level bankers are scrambling right now to try and figure out how best to get their cut off the millions generated by cryptocurrency transactions going on outside of the normal banking platforms of the world.

Meanwhile, DEFI banking is soaring, so while banks are trying to figure it all out, we will be out here buying, selling, trading, exchanging, holding, and staking crypto!🤷🏾‍♀️🤑
